I've been to Cat a few times now for professional headshots. For someone who hates being photographed, Cat makes the whole process entirely painless and the results are beyond expectation. I wouldn't go to anyone else :)
I went to a studio workshop with Cat about a month ago. There are four facets that make workshops worthwhile. Organisation with communication; good, knowledgeable tuition; a good model; good company. Cat organised the workshop impeccably, letting everyone know what to expect and when to arrive in plenty of time. Neal Shaw has extensive knowledge of lighting, both in the studio and outside. Cally is a very good model who not only brings her own personality, but is alo willing to take direction very well. Everyone was good company and Neal's tuition is informative and fun as Neal is very patient and ensures everyone understands what he is teaching. Cat's studio space is good and she is always looking to try new techniques although she is also an accomplished photographer.
I've just seen that Catherine Heaps is putting on another Studio Lighting Workshop with Neal Shaw. I would encourage ALL of you to queue to attend this. It was fantastic. I've spent the few weeks trying to raise funds for more lighting equipment. Already got my triggers, softbox(s) to follow. DO it... NOW.!! you will not regret it.
